Bola Are is a Yoruba gospel singer and one of the pioneers of gospel music in Nigeria.
It had been prophesied before her birth that she would serve God as a singer.
When she was eight years old, the singer and her friends sang and danced around the community wearing the clothes their parents bought for them during easter celebration. Mama Bola Are’s music career started on 26th June 1993, when she established her band BOLA AND HER SPIRITUAL SINGERS.
In August 1997, she debuted her first album, Baba Ku Ise.
She was once the President of Gospel musicians association of Nigeria (GOMAN), She served as the President of GOMAN for five years. During her tenure, she registered the association with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria (CAC) and also opened a bank account for the association.
Also, she was able to influence the Governor of Ekiti state at that time, Governor Segun Oni, to donate One million naira to GOMAN, She led the foundation to establish more chapters in the north, south, and other Geo-political Zones in Niger.
The Ewi of Ado also donated several plots of land to the association in Ado during Mama’s tenure. She celebrated her Forty years on stage in 2009, that when she released 40 YEARS OF SUFFICIENT GRACE AND UNMERITED FAVOUR.
Bola always says “if you don’t have a call, don’t go near gospel music, you must be called by God before you come into the industry’. Bola Are always puts her trust and dependency on God, and that is the only thing that has given her all she has today, including her fame as a world-acclaimed gospel singer.
