Chukwuemeka Okolie, popularly known on stage as Kholi. He grew up in Jos, Plateau state, Nigeria, and is from a family of five. His mother and father served in the armed forces and he was the only son. He attended Renaissance University in Nigeria and graduated with a Business Administration major in 2017. From a young age, he has loved music. And as a child, he was a singer in church and played musical instruments.
He taught himself how to play instruments like keyboard and drums. He also loved to write and produce songs by himself. He put so much talent and determination in his dreams, and his resilience has brought him this far. His hard work began to pay off when he used to play for his sisters and friends, and his audience begin to grow. He has started releasing songs under the likes of RnB and Afro pop for years, but he wasn’t noticed until February 2017.
Kholl gets his inspiration from Wizkid, Tory Lanez, Bruno Mars, and Wande Coal. His first appearance was when he performed an event and was spotted by the CEO of Flux Factory, which is a record company. He signed for the label, and in September 2018, he released his first single called “Showa”. The song featured L.A.X and Gospelondebeatz was the producer on the record. It got over 19,000 views on YouTube.
His music career is getting better by the months. He released a song called ” Hadiza” with Mayorkun, and had over 250,000 views on YouTube. It had been one of his most popular songs to date. He has also released “Ki Lo Kan Mi”. His music is fresh, catchy and full of fresh energy. He has also teased his fans that he’s working on some exciting projects that will make him reach greater heights in the Nigerian music industry.
Kholi is the latest Nigerian music star to listen to and watch.
