Big Brother Naija Season 5; Meet Tolani Shobajo

Tolani Shobajo is a 27-year-old media personality from Lagos State. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, US. She is an artist and Repertoire (A&R) who has worked with Universal Music Group, Aristocrats Records, Pulse TV, and Tooexclusive. She is an energetic gingered lady.

Tolani Baj, as she prefers to be called, is one of the beautiful faces in the big brother house. She spent nine years in the US, after which she relocated to Nigeria and started her career in showbiz. She started her showbiz career in December 2016. She is often described as the life of the party. If she’s not entertaining, then she’s dancing and cooking.

She has a YouTube site of her own, where she talks about celebrity gossips, new music, and the Nigerian culture. She is recognized by BellaNaija and tooexclusive. She considers her vlogs like an open diary, where she documents her journey transitioning from living in America to living in Lagos. She creates content for Africans in diaspora and keeps them updated on the happenings in Lagos.

Tolani Baj also said she would like to view her videos as a documentary for her future kids. In her words, “they get to see how fun their mom was as a youth/adult.” Baj says if she wasn’t doing entertainment, she would probably be working in the healthcare industry. She runs a modeling and event staffing agency, called 234nextgen, which is fast becoming a force in Nigeria.

When asked about her profession as a woman who works in a male-dominated profession, she said, “the entertainment industry is fickle. Women have to prove themselves twice as hard in order not to be rejected”. She says being a female in the industry is challenging, but she believes she can do anything if she sets her mind to it.

Her new lockdown habit was eating a daily breakfast. ” I didn’t realize how important breakfast was until now. It makes my day better”, she said in an interview. Her words to live by are, “Enjoy your life. Live it how you want, because people will talk regardless.” Her greatest achievement was when she got a job in one of the world’s leading music entertainment companies within four months of relocating to Nigeria. She determined to follow her dreams and instincts and she is still flourishing in that line.
