Ngozi Erica Nlewedim is a 26 year old lady born to Oby Nwokolo and Eric Nlewedim. She was born in Umuahia, Abia State as an only child and raised in Lagos by her mother. She had her secondary school education at Victory Grammar School, Lagos, but was later moved to Command Secondary School, Ikeja, Lagos.
She graduated from Covenant University with a degree in Business Administration. Erica discovered her modelling talent at a young age, and in 2013, she became the brand ambassador for Natures Gentle Touch, a personal brand that uses natural ingredients to solve hair and scalp problems.
She participated in the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant (MGBN) in 2014, where she became people’s favorite and earned the MBGN Miss Photogenic award. She also starred in a Peak Milk TV advert alongside Falz, a Nigerian pop Artiste.
Erica’s acting career took off in 2015 where she played the lead role in Secrets and Scandals. She also featured in the TV series, Royal Castle for three seasons. That same year, she featured in the movie Poka Messiah, directed by Ernest Obi.
In 2016, she starred in a thriller, Once Upon a Night. She has also featured in many TV series and movies like Being Farouk, Dead Rites, My Flatmates, Win or Lose, among others. She also played a role in Hire A Woman, a blockbuster movie.
Erica established Erica Nlewedim Foundation, a non-governmental Organisation geared towards catering for disadvantaged children, in 2018. The foundation often goes to orphanages to donate babies’ supplies and other consumables. In 2019, the foundation inaugurated its Hunger Heroes Campaign which fed 1000 underprivileged people on the streets of Lagos.
In order to improve her acting career, she went to London in 2019 to study screen acting at the Met Film School. She returned to Lagos after the school. Erica has worked as a model for brands, such as Glo, Jumia, and MyZotoApp. She was the brand face for Access bank, Maltina, and Zaron Cosmetics from 2015-2017.
One new habit she acquired during the lockdown was reading motivational books and watching real estate sales videos on YouTube. Her words to live by are, “At the end of your life, be satisfied because you have achieved all your goals, touched so many lives, and loved greatly”. Her achievements so far are graduating from film school in London, producing her first short film with a team in Birmingham, and being in the movie, Hire a Woman.
She looks forward to carving a niche for herself with her Luxury hair brand, Beluxa Hair, where she is the CEO.
